    You make a good point about the impact of the projector. In some ways, I think that teachers rely too heavily on their slides and become lazy in planning out their lessons. But projectors have added visuals and the ability to highlight key points and because of that, projectors have had a very positive influence on the classroom as well.

  2. What I like about the projector is how reusable it is. I remember (albeit vaguely) learning the counties of New Jersey in 4th grade. Our projector had broken so we couldn't use it for a few weeks, so every time we practiced as a class, we had to get a huge print out of the state and throw it away after every attempt. When we got our project back, our teacher was just able to use a transparency and erase it after every use. This is how I imagine things working in the classroom twenty years ago. With an overhead projector, and later smart boards, schools were able to cut down on resources.
